Au coeur de la Sérénissime, cité-monde la plus peuplée d'Europe, puissance honnie par le pape Paul V, il est un établissement mystérieux connu sous le nom de Maison des Jeux. Palais accueillant des joueurs de tous horizons, il se divise en deux cercles, Basse et Haute Loge. Dans le premier, les fortunes se font et se défont autour de tables de jeux divers et parfois improbables. Rarement, très rarement, certains joueurs aux talents hors normes sont invités à franchir les portes dorées de la Haute Loge.
